We’re now one week down on Passion Struck. That should put you roughly 25% of the way through - or for those reading the physical version, around about page 82. Of course, we all read/listen at different speeds so take your time and read at your own pace.

We’re only a few chapters in, but already there’s so much to chew on. Here are three ideas that have jumped out to us so far.

Miles makes it pretty clear – if you don’t decide where you’re going, life will happily sweep you along somewhere else. Drifting is easy, almost effortless, and before you know it months or years have gone by without you really steering the ship. Living with intention isn’t about overhauling your life in one dramatic moment, it’s about choosing, day after day, to take small steps towards the things that matter most to you. Those little decisions start to stack up in ways that can completely change your direction.

The idea that one day you’ll “find” your passion is a myth. Miles reframes passion as something you develop through action – trying things out, following your curiosity, and sticking with it long enough to get good at it. It’s a bit like planting seeds in a garden. You don’t wait around for the perfect plant to appear. You plant, you water, you prune, and over time, something amazing grows.

We tend to obsess over the big milestones (the big launch, the dream job, the major breakthrough), but Miles reminds us that it’s the small, everyday moments that really shape who we are. It’s in those tiny, seemingly insignificant choices that the real magic happens. Skip them, and the big wins might never come. Treat them like they matter (because they do), and you’ll find that those “micro” moments are actually the most powerful levers for change.
